Boasting a powder coated engineered and tested laser-cut 4-inch C- channel steel frame and an all aluminum modular body, the lightweight and rugged Switchback trailer is designed and built for the most rugged of off road endeavours.
From 3D AutoCAD modeling and inception to its final tested form, the Switchback is designed and built for the utilitarian enthusiast. From its steel mainframe to its uncompromising aluminum storage compartments and capacity, the Switchback trailer is constructed entirely of metal and composites. At 1300 lbs base dry weight, with an ideal track width and wheel base, the Switchback is uncompromising for a wide range of tow vehicles.
The Switchback off road trailer features a 50-degree departure angle and a Timbren 3500 HD axle-less suspension that is supported by engineered laser cut supports. With the adventurer in mind, when the trails demand control – and they will – the Switchback off-road utility trailer comes equipped with 12-inch electric brakes and a battery back-up breakaway system. Off Grid Trailers believes that each trailer should be unique to its owner, and that’s why we included an awning lift design to free up some much needed roof rack space for a variety of mounted accessories. The Switchback trailer is available with either standard galley configurations and is loaded with interior and exterior storage to keep your gear with you on the trail or at basecamp.
The Switchback boasts a fully modular aluminum body construction including multiple interior and exterior storage compartments. From the securable pass through interior storage, to the front electrical compartment and integrated shelf, the Switchback allows for infinite storage options.
The off road overlanding utility trailer also comes equipped with 4 USB ports and interior/exterior LED lighting, and includes 130aH of battery capacity standard. Designed to be compact yet versatile, the Switchback includes dry and wet storage as well as integrated drain channels throughout.

In addition to a Dometic fridge and onboard fresh water option, the Switchback trailer features a laser-cut and formed kitchen drop-down OR side galley that is quickly and safely stowed. Each galley configuration comes standard with multiple stainless steel prep surfaces as well as a variety of pantry and gear storage areas. Although compact, the galley includes a Dometic stainless-steel dual burner stove, as well as an optional hot and cold water stainless steel sink.
With an optional 31 gallons of freshwater and hot water on demand, the Switchback is your base camp of convenience after a long day of hiking, surfing, hunting, or trail exploration. When the day is done, you can stretch out and relax in any of the standard or optional roof top tent configurations, large or small, resting up for next day of adventure.
